MOHAWK VALLEY 1

IMPECCABLY CLEAN STUDIO

Well, it's been a pretty cool journey these past few weeks, since meeting Ms. Carstens of C. Carstens Fine Art Studio and Gallery, and co-creating the opportunity for us to work together at her gallery. Since meeting Cyndy, I have been in a non stop swirling-durbish to create enough inventory to keep my obligation to the Gallery fresh and up to date with the latest. AND I AM LOVING IT!

I am thrilled to be gallery bound this side of the Mississippi. I am also represented by Bluestone Fine Art Gallery in Philadelphia, PA. It is a lovely gallery, settled in the historic district and appointed quite nicley.   I must say though, Scottsdale is a bit easier to visit, since, well of course I live here, in lieu of Pensylvania.

Cyndy's gallery is a working studio, full of the crisp smell of turpentine, clean floors and walls. It is as though the paint gently works it's way to the canvas with effortless control, respectful neatness, and the proverbial "a place for everything and everything in it's place". This  magnificint exercise of painting results in the most inviting desert vistas one could imagine. She was kind enough to offer her studio as a place for me to gently introduce my paint and brush to the canvas. As you can see by the photo of my studio, our friendship, had I accepted her hospitality, could have been stopped in it's tracks. I rarely do anything gently, and certainly wouldn't waste time in putting things away. Well, heck fire, I'll just use them again in a few days, weeks or months. Ok, the rest of the house is straight, so relax.

It's been quite interesting, however, with this marathon painting fest. I've pulled a couple of twenty four hour days, and have  manifested some pieces that are atypical for me. Color pallets and subject matters like none that reside in my repertoire have emerged. Now that I am more focused on the task at hand, inventory, my little color | 3D brain, are working overtime. Some people see dead people, I see paintings, thank goodness.

I am traveling to Coronado Island this weekend. I love to paint there. It's humid and the acrylic is open longer, and allows for those magical mistakes which make painting so exciting. I've attached the two pieces I painted when last I visited that beautiful isle. "Mohawk 1" "Mohawk 2" both are 12" x 12" x 2" Acrylic on Canvas.

Take a peek at the image of my studio, and feel happy for Cyndy that I did not take her up on her kind and generous offer, and feel sorry for my precious hubby.  Mark your calendar for my artists reception "It's All About The Color" on November 10, 2011 from six o'clock until nine o'clock in the evening, at C. Carstens Fine Art Gallery located at 7077 E. Main St. in The Courtyard, Old Town Scottsdale. It's going to be fun evening of champagne, chocolate, scandalous conversation and the beautiful art of Cyndy Carstens and your humble artist and aurthur, Kelli Berry.

SOCIAL MARKETING SOCIALLY

Who says social media does not deliver solid results? A few weeks ago, I visited one of the many  networking meetings hosted by The National Business Experts, under the very capable leadership of Gia Heller, held across the Valley.  This networking meeting resulted in a chance encounter with Ms. Cyndy Carstens, Resident Artist and Owner of C. Carstens Fine Art Studio and Gallery, and a budding friendship, with the love of art tying the binds, has blossomed.
Cyndy is a quite spoken lady, with a very vocal love of her craft.  Life has a powerful way to move and change our well laid plans, and in Cyndy's case the changes Life imparted have created an artist who delivers quietly emotional works of art which demand attention and deliver a sense of well being and thought provoking inspiration.
The Grand Opening of this influential gallery is scheduled for Saturday October 8, 2011, Noon until Six PM. Nestled in the Courtyard of Marshall Square at 7077 E. Main Street, #15, in Old Town Scottsdale, this little gallery packs a big ole punch. Carstens' paintings are full of dimension, big sky and amazing southwest colors. Her skill is obvious as one takes in the beauty of what her energy, combined with her brush, have gifted the canvas.  Carstens' works of art allow the viewer permission to float away to a peaceful place of calm introspect.  Who among us would not welcome a time of quite reflection into the majesty our world holds. I promise, you will be swept away by the evident passion her works emote.
Please mark your calendar and join me for this evening of great art, good wine, and grand conversation. And be sure to ask Cyndy about the story of how her art came to be. It's a pretty cool tale.  And one more item of business. I will be Carstens' guest artist November and December. I am honored and excited.
